Antoinette Blunt, Chair, Board of Directors

In 2025, Antoinette accepted the position as the first Board Chair of Lotus House. Antoinette is a Senior Consultant with Ironside Consulting Services Inc. (ICS Inc.), a company she founded in 2000 that specializes in human resources and labour relations, organizational and governance services for organizations and companies throughout Northern Ontario. Antoinette has been appointed Integrity Commissioner for the Corporation of the City of Sault Ste. Marie and several other municipalities in northeastern Ontario.

Antoinette’s educational background includes a master’s degree in public administration, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Antoinette has over 25 years of experience providing consultative services to organizations and companies, and over 20 years of executive and senior management experience in the community health care sector.

From 2021 to 2023, Antoinette served on the Sault Area Hospital Board of Directors, serving as Chair of the People and Culture Committee. Antoinette is also a Past Chair of the provincial Board of Directors of the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) and served on several committees across the province, nationally, and internationally, chairing committees including Appeals and Government Relations Committee, and representing the provincial association on a national level, serving as Chair of the Professional Standards Committee. Antoinette is also the Past Chair of the Human Resources Research Institute.

Antoinette holds the designations of Certified Human Resources Leader and Certified Human Resources Executive. In 2013, Antoinette was awarded the Fellow Designation by the Human Resources Professionals Association. This is “a prestigious title and designation awarded within the human resources profession to an individual who promotes best practices and continually enhances the reputation of the profession.”  At the same time, she was also awarded an Honorary Life Membership in the Human Resources Professionals Association, “Recognizing Extraordinary Volunteer and Leadership Contributions at HRPA”.

In 2005, Antoinette was named by the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce is the winner of the Athena Award, an internationally recognized award honouring exceptional women leaders who inspire others to achieve excellence in their professional and personal lives.

Connie Raynor Elliot, Secretary/Treasurer, Board of Director

Connie currently works at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation as an Inside Sales Specialist. Connie is the President/Founder of Save Our Young Adults (SOYA). Conine is a Certified General Accountant. Connie serves as a Director of Save Our Young Adults (SOYA).


Connie has relevant life experiences with family members and friends with substance use disorder/Mental Wellness. She volunteers with the SOYA Depot on 179 Gore Street Team in Sault Ste. Marie is involved with multiple partner agencies.


For her volunteer work, Connie has received several awards, including the 2024 Sault Ste. Marie Medal of Merit; the 2025 Communities Builder Award (Unsung Hero); the Public Health Champions Award for 2024; the 2025 OLG's Community Contributor Award; the 2023 Community Hero Award, Sault Ste Marie City Police, and the 2023 Queen of Canada and Commanders-in-Chief’s Platinum Jubilee.

Brent Lamming, Director, Board of Directors

Brent Lamming is currently the Deputy CAO of Community Development & Enterprise Services for the City of Sault Ste. Marie. As the Deputy CAO, Community Development & Enterprise Services, Brent reports directly to the CAO and provides oversight and guidance on long-range planning, the achievement of corporate objectives and goals, policy and program development, and the establishment of plans and expected results. The Deputy CAO provides leadership, growth, and development for the Department, ensures operations are focused on achieving corporate strategic goals, and ensures business is conducted in accordance with established policies and the vision.


Before this position, Brent served as the CEO of Community First Credit Union, providing strategic oversight with $500 million in assets under administration. Brent has also held senior roles at Algoma Steel, including Superintendent of Material Reprocessing and Mill Controller in the Finance Department. As a designated Certified Management Accountant with over 25 years’ experience, Brent has leveraged his financial background to lead project implementation and strategy development, and to oversee daily operations and annual budgeting processes.


Brent also holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) designation and a Professional Planning Designation from the Institute of Canadian Bankers. In addition to completing Project Management at the University of Waterloo and Strategy Certification from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. Brent has also completed the Municipal Administration Program through the Association of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario.

Kristy Jones, Director, Board of Directors

Temporary Housing

Kristy, Gimmíwan Aankwad Kwe (Rain Cloud Woman), is an Anishinaabe Kwe of The Makwa doodemag from Ketegaunseebee – Garden River First Nation. For over seventeen years, she has supported governance, housing, justice, and wellness initiatives with a clear commitment to strengthening systems for First Nations. She holds a Mini-MBA and Leadership Certificate from the Schulich School of Business, a BA in Law and Justice from Laurentian University, and certificates in Indigenous Research Paradigms (Wilfrid Laurier) and Indigenous People and Canadian Law (Osgoode Hall).

Kristy currently serves as a Councillor for Garden River First Nation and as a Board Director of the Belleville Housing Project, a multinational partnership advancing safe, affordable housing for members living away from home. Her experience spans frontline service, policy development, and UNDRIP-focused justice work, and community-based research, including supporting 39 First Nations through her role as Justice Manager with the Anishinabek Nation.

Her earlier leadership in supportive housing deepened her understanding of homelessness, addiction, and systemic barriers faced by Indigenous families. Recognized with the 2018 “Extra Mile” Silver Ribbon Award, Kristy continues to ground her work in humility, relationship-building, and Anishinaabe teachings—believing that strong governance grows from kindness, accountability, and collective responsibility.

Dorothy Coad, Director, Board of Directors

 

Dorothy is currently the Director of Integrated Services at CMHA Algoma. She oversees, develops, and implements programs and services related to homelessness, addictions, and mental health at the regional level. Dorothy holds a diploma with distinction in social service work and a degree with distinction in social work with an Indigenous specialization. Dorothy has received certification as a Gladue Writer from the Indigenous Perspectives Society (IPS) in partnership with Royal Roads University in British Columbia. Before entering the field of social work, Dorothy was a Registered Insurance Broker with education through the Insurance Brokers’ Association of Ontario (IBAO).

In addition to personal and family life experiences, Dorothy has provided front-line social services in Sault Ste. Marie, that includes providing direct support within the homeless community, the criminal justice system, and life skills development. Dorothy has fulfilled a leadership role in the addictions and mental health field in Algoma for over six years, where she was able to develop programs
and services that addressed the unique needs of community members experiencing homelessness, mental illness and addictions.

Dorothy has volunteered many hours to various community-driven and nonprofit organizations over the last twenty-five years, providing in kind supports in fundraising, leadership, and direct services supporting several organizations, including the St. John Ambulance Dog Therapy Program (Simcoe Muskoka); Hospice/Palliative care programs (ARCH & Hospice Muskoka); Women’s Shelter
(Barrie Women and Children’s Shelter), Food banks (The Sharing Place Food Center, Orillia) and the Consumer Survivor Initiative (CMHA Algoma).
